Bangal Rsanna - East Bengali CuisineThis is another such dish which can make my otherwise uninteresting lunch a happy one! For making this very ‘Bangal Raanna’(East Bengali Cuisine) you need the following ingredients –

 


Recipe ingrediants

Lentil (one cup)
Onion ( two medium)
Garlic(7-8 pods)
Ginger1/2 inch
Green chilli (7-8)
Mustard oil (2-3 table spoons)
Kalo jeera (two table spoons)
Turmeric ½ table spoon

How to make it-
Soak the lentil in water for at least six hrs. Drain the excess water and grind it in a mixer grinder along with the chilli,ginger and garlic. Chop the onions and mix it with the paste along with kola jeera and the mustard oil.

How to cook it-
Heat white oil (5 table spoons) in a flat based frying pan. Spread the mixture evenly. Let it cook in low flame. Cover the pan while it cooks for 15 minutes. Now turn it upside down very carefully. This happens to be the toughest part!!!!;-) cook for another ten minutes. It’s a perfect starter for any meal!!!!
