Yes, we are living in an energy dependent country..and so much so on OIL. As an average human being trying to make a decent living for my family...i think i am really pissed off and helpless to see the price of energy shooting up. I walked in the US when i cud fill gas in my car for less than a dollar/gallon and now I am paying close to $4.5/gallon….how outrageous and so much so I have no clue who are these buffoons who decide to control these prices. I really don’t care why I should be penalized for an unwanted war taking place way in Iraq or an uncalled Samaritan effort in Afghanistan where we are trying to find an ever elusive terrorist…..
We are trying to get a new President in the oval office…but what do we expect..a magic wand…I really don’t know, as politicians both the parties are trying to woo the innocent masses and we all are going to succumb to the charm and promises of one of them and vote him/her to office…oops there is no longer a “her”
But hey…let me posh this question..do you really think…a new president..means an end of war …end of Afghanistan…no more Iran’s and Syria’s and North Korea’s…I think we have invited this crisis and created another Vietnam in Iraq and we will need to support them for the next 10 years….
So energy crisis is just one of the major issues affecting us …but a glim political scenario is round the corner as well….
Where are the jobs!!! .where is the economy!!!..did you know Detroit is the only city in the world which has come down from the maximum number of millionaires to most number of jobless people in the world….just drive to the neighborhoods of Detroit and its suburbs, you can see the hapless situation….you can just see foreclosures around and this is just not the Midwest almost most of the US.
As a legal alien in this country, I really think most of the solution lies within the US itself and the basic premise is education..the so called young population has lost the interest…the country with great research capabilities relies on foreign talent to do most of its research…maybe somewhere this country needs an approach like China towards educating its young population in science and math….a real constructive plan…
Renewable energy is another big area which US needs to implement seriously…u might want to give the peace prize to an ex-VP..but don’t stop it there…start thinking on the lines…with the research and implementation potential around we should be able to see more biomass plants, wind and geothermal energy sources .and instead of the kick-ass trucks guzzling gas…see more hydrogen cars..
Hey am I talking of an utopian scenario…I don’t think so…feel free to add your thoughts and comments..i think you will all have much to say….
