Strike will decrease productivity and increase price hike. And this has always a longterm effect on the ecconomy where the consumer suffers from paying more for less product or services.

I dont know how well I will able to justify with facts because to describe this phenomenon one needs to have proper history data to back  their point. But, overall this has a negative effect on the community as a whole which might not be a good tool is it has too much use on the community.

I cannot agree with you anymore on this issue! This has effected the US so gruesomely that, thoday in Election Campaign it is the topmost concern for the leaders and policymakers. Gas price in US is above $4($4.39)per gallon that is unimaginable. Commuters have started to carpool couple of years back and now, public transportation is full of these commuters. Food prices are all time high due to high diesel prices. It's effecting American citizens (highermiddle class as well)!

It is affecting everyone in the world not only Americans , America has one of the poorest oublic transport systems and only cities like New york , LA , San francisco have decent public transport system , the government deliberately did not develop a good public transport system in America to benefits auto manufacturers and oil companies
