Step 1 - Fill the fuel tank full. Step 2 - Reset the odometer so that the mileage count reads zero. Step 3 - After travelling certain distance read the odometer before filling the tank full again. The amount of fuel it takes to fill the tank full will be the amount of fuel consumed to travel the distance your odometer displayed last.
