As human beings we have the proud
privilege of being the most dominant species on planet earth. As we go through
each day of our lives, we rarely give a thought to the justification of
being human beings.Life itself is an enigma whose true eseence is often a
matter of personal perception. In juxtaposition with the reality of death,
life is an irony. On the other hand, for those who always view the half filled
glass, life is a gift. The sad part is, that not many of us appreciate this
gift. We exist, but rarely do we live. We are born, we learn,we receive
education and we find our respective means of sustaining ourselves. Then what
do we give back? Most people will scorn the question and merely dismiss it as
an absurd philosophy. But I cannot help but ask myself, what have I done to
justify my status as a human being and showcase the essence of humanity.
What is faith? Faith is something you believe in very
strongly. It may be an object, an opinion or something that you believe is
true. Some have faith in religion, some in science, some in astrology and some
perhaps in a handkerchief which he thinks brings him good luck.
Faith is very
important in life because you think it works. And you are what you think. Your very life depends on what you think. If
you think you are happy you are happy. If you think you are unhappy you are
unhappy. Faith gives you confidence in adversity. And confidence gives you a
calm and peaceful mind. Again, a calm and peaceful mind makes you think lucidly
and positively. A positive thought translates into positive action and in the
end a positive result.

Adespairing situation is loosing the fate of the recent wind of trendy Bangla writing, where as an ancient hereditary derivation is still hilariously lucent to the every writer's nowadays because of the present cultural topography. The good cult of R.N. Tagore is hoofing off it's own limit, beaming the azure intense, escalating the homogeneous thoughts of age-old bangla book-trading policy. The wind of trade and the writing -trend both discarding a writer from the honey & mellow of the culture. The recent & contemporaries are following the same untraced path of Tagore. The voluptuous bangla -classics have already started to be fading out from the present market by the wind of trendy comical postmodernists.
I travelled to Kolkata
this winter from Jan 16th to feb 15th 2009 and came back with many many
good memories. The nostalgia of being back to India after 7 long years
was itself an experience. I was very happy to meet my parents , a few
old friends , was very happy to see all the changes that have come to
Kolkata but was also saddened by a lot of things as well.
I have many reasons to throw away my phone but do any of us
know that how dependable we have become to such devices and gadgets in our
life? I will also say it’s as a fashion or we are just addicted to cell phones.
In India, every
person I met while crossing a small street was on this cell phone or text
messaging someone or just listening to music. By God’s Grace, those parents of
such teenagers or some parents, teachers, working class men/women were able to
afford such heavily priced cell phones around the world. People buy these cell
phones out of maintaining status, ego and self esteem or to just love to keep
such gadgets. I am a gadget fan and would love to buy all of them if possible,
but eventually, we all are becoming a bunch of fools.
