A Feminist's Column! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Tintin

A woman was stoned to death by fifty men, may be or not, these men are adulterous or semi-adulterous, but why do we only ever read about women being stoned to death for this sort of thing? Are men allowed to be all free to have sex before or during wedlock? Does Sharia Law turn a blind eye or does the society imposing Sharia Law turn a blind eye to male infidelity? Are women not allowed to give evidence against men or are men exempt from any legal repercussions for sex outside of wedlock?

Or are there as many men being stoned to death for adultery as women and we just don’t read about them?Men consider them as the superior of the human world, may me similar things takes place in the animal world, but why does a women has to face such issues when their men might be facing infidelity or adulterious actions.

I am not sure why women of certain community has to face shame in the soceity when they are raped by a man or group of men? Why are not those men ashamed of raping a women or molesting their daughters or sisters? I have questions in my mind which seems endless and I find it hating those group of community or society who are hell bound to ask a women for her chastity or in other case virginity. Does a man ever has  to prove his virginity before they get married or they are creatures who find their pride to sleep with women before or after wedlock? I have heard stories in some communities in India and Islamic countries, where girls before their marriage try to get their hyman re-created so that their husband, during the night of their marriage can be sure that the woman he married is as pure as the holy water! Disgusting! I find many living in USA are after 'So-called" virgin women and thus get married to the choice of their parents. I did had some fierce arguements with such nasty men and I had almost caught up them by collar, sometime felt to shoot them on sight, because of their nasty reasons and illogical comments! For them I am not an ideal Indain woman at all! (In my wildest guess, I want to rub hot pepper on their back)

I read on newspapers and internet news that a husband threw away his wife on the night of wedding as she did not bleed when he was making love to her! Horse-sh***! I will probably give that to him on the wedding night and kick his balls so that he cannot call himself potent! Yes, I am a real feminist and if this post makes you one, why not think of stoning such men in our soceity who falls under this impotent, coward and bull head category!

Any thoughts are welcome!

I definitely agree with your view against the men considering themselves above questionable ethics/decency/dharma when it comes to their sexual affairs.

For all such acts of men there are equal number of women involved too. Otherwise the men must still be termed virgins

However, your point well taken on both men and women be treated equal in this reference. What is practiced by men must be expected and accepted of women too, if that happens. But....

..do women like to be as bad as men?
tintin Publisher | 2008-11-11 01:12:00
Well Thank you for your kind comments. I do not know what women wants to or not to be as bad as men but what women has accepted of men are because of their dependency or for some social norms. As our so-called tradition has always taught us that women to keep more patience and bear everything to keep their marriage, family or their society united, at the cost of their self image or self esteem. A woman is taken for granted to bear all the deeds of her father, brother, husband and sons. What if we reverse this thing for a second and see how men reacts? Will he consider to marry a women who sleeps with men before her marriage, or who is a fallen into a prey of rape or molest by some men? What if she has some infidelity problem and then accepted by the husband? Why don't men are stoned to death or buried alive or ask for the virginity and if not found thrown out of their house? Will the society accept these norms?
suchin - in shariat.. IP:59.92.149.94 | 2008-11-11 01:14:19
In shariat such men's dick will be chopped off with axe in front of all women and men in public. one pulls his dick out and holds it tight on a wooden log. other one chops it off. only if a man is 'caught' red handed. otherwise shariat protects men lol. i mean caught red dicked
Bicharok - Oouch IP:67.169.30.18 | 2008-11-11 01:14:43
Now once chopped their most of the biological and other functions are sealed off. I mean to say as a guy its better to kidd us instead of chopping the "Red Dick"
Shayoni Author | 2008-11-11 01:19:24
i sometime feel like to cut their everything off and hang them in a cellar. I had watched a movie long time ago where group of women will make the guy unconscious and later take him to the clinic to operate and remove their genitals. These men fall under the above category!

Hats off to tintin for focussing on such issue ..I was eagerly waiting for such type of articles...Since our society is a male dominated society, men take undue advantage out of it..Guys feel proud to increase their no of gfs to satisfy their sexual desire..even their parents feel proud to declare in public that how matured their offspring has turned into..On the otherhand same parents show tremendous restriction towards their gal child..thats the level of their hypocrasy.. Whenever a marriage breaks it the wife who is blamed not the husband...when couples dont have offsprings for some genital problems it is the wife who is blamed, though doctors has detected problem with the husband..During ancient times Hindu wives were burnt alive along with their husband's dead body to turn them Sati...reversely when wives died, their husband's soon get married for next time...Till date Muslim men get married atleast twice for their sexual desire and continuation of their racial existence...Though form of supremacy has changed still men are ruling the world and ll rule..Any protest any revolt cannot overcome that becuase the tree of slavery has grown its root deep inside our genes,DNAs etc...cant escape..

Probably this is the only reason why these days gals behave rudely towards guyz or put up a attitude mask... ...i'm writing based on my own experience ...so that they dun have to face kinda teasing..or they can ignore it.. ...n i btr dun talk abt that weird desire part of certain MALES... ...
sandy - Even women are not helping eit Publisher | 2008-11-12 20:32:20
Parents consists of both sex. So the problem in upbringing by both the sexes. So accusing one particular gender is unfair. The society as a whole responsible. be it males or females. Same female victim later play the roles of parents forget what happened when they were young. But as a whole they tend to follow the so called formalities of the so called male dominated society.
Bicharok IP:67.169.30.18 | 2008-11-13 02:17:47
The society still taboos widow re-marriages and still looks at the women lowly when they are divorced. Also I see female child is mistreated by her family and do have equal rights nor as a daughter neither as daughter-in-law. But yes as Sandy says that its the women who forget then and follows the exploited traditions of male dominated society. See this when a man sleeps with 100 women he is man but when a women sleeps with 10 men she is a whore!
tintin - @Bicharok Publisher | 2008-11-14 04:29:57
"See this when a man sleeps with 100 women he is man but ........"

Such men are known as "Pimp Daddy"

There is nice movie "In The Name Of God" displayed the character of Afghan men where they are forced to marry women by force and impregnate them so that they don't escape from such relationship which were made out of their will.

I better "Shoot at sight" such men!

Well, yes I am a feminist and will do anything to give justice to a woman if she is ill-treated. Anyway, I am too. surprised as to how society and so-called educated people blame a woman for any bad things happen in this world. I understand that there are woman who are evil, but its more like stereotype that when a husband dies, woman is blames, when a divorce occurs, women are blamed and also if she has no children due her husband's problem she is called barren! Evil very evil!

Thank you for your thoughts on this subject. Yes, there is a double standard for women than men. But, that doesn't make it right.
tintin - New Status of women in Hinduis Publisher | 2008-11-15 22:07:00
Well, this is what I finally found on one of my friend's blog section where an author name Deepak Kamat writes about how Hindu women are treated by our society. Though the topics mentioned in this blog sounds talking about somewhat 100 years back. One person replies to the blog by saying this.

"8 Responses to New Status of women in Hinduism

“All wife of the host reciting three mantras go round the horse. While praying, they say: ‘O horse, you are, protector of the community on the basis of good qualities, you are, protector or treasure of happiness. O horse, you become my husband.’” - Yajur Veda 23/19.

“After the animal is purified by the priest, the principal wife sleeps near the horse and says: ‘O Horse, i extract the semen worth conception and you release the semen worth conception’” - Yajur Veda 23/20.

The horse and principal wife spread two legs each. Then the Ardhvaryu(priest) orders to cover the oblation place, raise canopy etc. After this, the principal wife of the host pulls penis of the horse and puts it in her vagina and says: “This horse may release semen in me.” -Yajur Veda 23/20.

Then the host, while praying to the horse says:

“O horse, please throw semen on the upper part of the anus of my wife. Expand your penis and insert it in the vagina because after insertion, this penis makes women happy and lively” - 23/21.

In the vedic age, the customs of polygamy was prevalent. Each wife spent most of the time devising ways and means to become favourite to her husband. Clear references are available in ‘Rig Veda’, (14/45),’ and Atharva Veda (3/81)’"

sandy - I Wonder!!! Publisher | 2008-11-15 23:24:32
I wonder if this is fact or fiction. From one side it seems how o woman get treated on those days and why? From the society point of view this ritual may be symbolic and means of activating the power of desire, urge or reproduction in the woman partner before marriage. But from another angle, what a the woman felt or gone through the process of such activity. Do not know if they have enjoyed such activity or not as far the version above. But one thing is sure, its all matter of belief in the society those days. So one may argue that wether women then felt been abused by such act or not.

I can't believe this Oh My Oh My...Shitty Vedas or what? Cannot think that Hinduism take women as baby making machines or so-called playmates for male sex-satisfaction. I remember the movie "Matrubhumi" where a village was without any female and the wife was shared between sons, brothers and father-in-law. My blood keeps boiling when I seen such crimes against women. Man I cannot believe into this and feel sorry those women who were alive during this period.
tintin Publisher | 2008-11-16 03:59:20
Hinduism is the only religion which one can acquire by birth but people of the society has exploited women and inferior community in the name of Hinduism. I don't believe vedas as those were written by human and at that time, this made sense as the society was created in that way. In today's time, this is "Horseshitt" but few things are still happening. Society still consider women as reproduction machine, men sue women as to satisfy their needs by making them their wife or domestic partner. When their needs are not met they find other women, but in this case the women is evil too or just exploited by the society. I see the victim is women given in any situation.

I don't believe in that women should were white clothes and use no makeup or jewelery when her husband dies. If society believe this process than a man should practice the same. I don't believe that when a marriage does not works, it is the women who is the culprit. Remember, we need two hands to clap! So when a marriage breaks both man and woman are responsible equally.

Many say women should bear everything to keep her family united. Aren't men responsible to keep the family united?

Tintin, you have posted some terrible things which makes the whole thing take an U-turn. I might have to then start accusing my forefathers as they might have surely doing many such crimes against women. I have seen many old ladies who are my relatives and are old fashioned, conservative, wearing white sari, eating less food, not using jewelery or some just pray to God all the time. These women were borne during the time when India was not freed from British Raj.

I am sure women never enjoyed anything which are forced on them and I am sure these Vedas are heinous crimes against women. I watched AntarMahal and i was cursing the character of Jackie Shroff as he was having sex with his wife infront of an outsider so that she can reproduce. What a looser? But in the remote villages this things still prevail for example, widow remarriage does not takes place, women will have to give dowry during marriage which is also happening in many cities etc.

I think, it will take another 50 years to overcome these happenings.

After a long time I am back! Hats off to you Tintin, u r becoming a noble writer. I did understand your point of view and understand that how much crime might be occurring with women. Men are can accept anything even a widow, but it is the women who screws up and make life hell for another women. You see that how a woman breaks a woman's home, and she can be her sister, mother or even her best friend. The exploitation against women does happen due to another women when she starts restricting her daughter or DIL for not wearing colorful clothes or using a Bindi. But it won't be men who will ask to wear white clothes but it will be definitely a women.

So my point is that though men are the superior of this society but the exploitation happens because of a woman only.
sandy - I couldn't agree with you mor Publisher | 2008-11-16 20:15:34
This is more hurtening when woman screws life of another woman. That does not mean am supporting the acts of men who use other women to do the same.

"Taj Hashmi discusses misogyny in relation to Muslim culture, and Bangladesh specifically, in Popular Islam and Misogyny: A Case Study of Bangladesh.

Thanks to the subjective interpretations of the Quran (almost exclusively by men), the preponderance of the misogynic mullahs and the regressive Shariah law in most "Muslim" countries, Islam is synonymously known as a promoter of misogyny in its worst form. Although there is no way of defending the so-called "great" traditions of Islam as libertarian and egalitarian with regard to women, we may draw a line between the Quranic texts and the corpus of avowedly misogynic writing and spoken words by the mullah having very little or no relevance to the Quran."
