Every once in a while you hear that a pharmacist refuses to sell a product since it is against her religion believes, even though the pharmacy owner is more than happy to sell it. By law the pharmacy owner can not fire the said pharmacist.

For a year, Julie Garcia(name changed) stopped in a CVS pharmacy near her home in a Fort Worth suburb to get refills of her birth-control pills. Then one day the pharmacist refused to 'sprescription because she did not believe in birth control and it was against are religion to sell birth control pills too!(By Charisse Jones, USA TODAY, USATODAY.com, 2007)

What are your ethical codes here? Give your thoughts by keeping in mind about religion equality. As per Catholic, abortion or selling pills are against their religion and many conservative Muslims do not believe that woman should have sex but have no children. India is a Democratic country and we need to respect our fellow Indian's way of thinking!

I think here two issues has to be addressed. One is people and community has their own belief where as per democratic rights they can follow what they want. But regarding rights of consumer in market place or in a shop he or she suppose to get what they want if they pay the right price. In that particular incident its obvious the shop owners failure to appoint a right sales person where he or she will only represnt the shop they work for rather their community and their belief.Ideally, I think as a organization, state or province this matter should be well address to their population that where to practice what and constant awareness should be spread unless that country by rule of law does support religious practice in every walks of life. Its finally choice of the people of that country where the government largely represents themselves only.

Sandy, well said! But see how people are and may be we are a part of it too! At times we talk about AIDS and prevention and the next moment we prevent people or kids from sex education. Can parents tell the real causes of HIV positive or ask their teenage kids about safe sex? Can we really get away from the orthodox cause of premarital sex and let youngster know that it's safe when they use correct precautions?

Take the Bollywood, the picture a virtue woman to be virgin, and a vamp can be someone who goes around with all villains. Bad huh! I find it ridiculous or hypocrisies of our society. Any thoughts?

Though we are still a little bit orthodox but very soon we need to get rid of them because HIV/AIDS virus is increasingly engulfing our loving earth. Every year thousands of people die of this fatal disease whose root cause is lack of knowledge about sex.So we need to be outspoken and not hypocrites & start sex education from our own family first because its something like "Charity begins at home".

i agree that till now we have not been able to discuss about SEX with ur children but unlike old days there is enough propaganda about these, especially AIDS and its precautionary measures, and they are not as misleading as in our days, with yellow cellophane paper wrapped books.
