I have heavy breathing, feel butterflies in my stomach or I feel like to keep talking about The Joker, take the roller coaster in a 3D mode or keep grooving over the new Batman series. So I start from here by posting my personal thoughts for the movie which turned out to be a review! The film begins with a thunderbolt (Bang Bang Bang..Thomp)that is about to rip into top ranked Bank (we call it Bank of Gotham), men masked as jokers knows exactly where to get in and spank the alarm codes so that the other jokers are able to get into the building and have a smooth hand on the money.(Huge piles of dollar notes) They start killing each other one after the other and thus the Manager(bank head) comes with a machine gun (like the Terminator) and starts shooting at the jokers until down.(More like a video game series) Oops! One fault, is that so easy to keep AK-47 at work? Then citizens might be roaming with one! Bam! A school bus pops in! Well, you will need to skip the damage this school bus creates into the Bank, opening to the main road and then disappearing into a line of school buses, but no one seems to care what happened in a broad daylight? No worries this will washed away from your memories as the story rolls in! The Joker, Heath Ledger, is the hero of this film and the Batman, Bruce Wayne, is the trouble maker as the dark/white knight. He's pissed that the public sees him as a vigilante. He wants the hero stuff to be done by district attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) and will lead a normal life for the sake of his ladylove, childhood sweetheart and so on, Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal, need some age-defying foundations) The Batman will pop up once and everytime in the dark, guarding the people and the city of Gotham! Few interesting scenes are the police interrogation, the encounter between Batman and Joker, implanting the bomb into a man's body, the sequence between Dent and Joker in the hospital are incredible to watch. The Joker represents the last completed legendary work for Heath Ledger, who died in 22nd January, 2008 before finishing work on Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Ledger's (Legendary) Joker has no gray areas, is just incredible, unstoppable and mind-blowing id. Check the scene where he crashed a party and circle Rachel, "Hello, beautiful," says the Joker, sniffing Rachel like a feral beast. As said, “I choose chaos”, and wants Batman to choose chaos as well. Michael Caine purrs as a perfect butler and adviser to the Batman, who harbors a secret that could crush his boss's spirit. Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, more than a CEO and the scientist who designs James bond style toys for Batman such as the Batpod (Its not another Apple’s IPOD series) Gary Oldman makes the ultimate good cop and a prime target for the Joker. Eckhart earns major scary transformation into the dreaded mechanical face which he is gifted after a burn scene – single handed plotted murder by the main character. Also the Coin sequence where he decides who lives and who dies. (A sequence from Sholay) I wish the movie had truly pinpointed The Joker as Dark knight and not the Batman as Ledger truly created darkness into the City of Gotham. Watch him when he blows the Hospital and the remote control just doesn’t work, one bump, suddenly blows the Hospital into pieces. "It was tremendously emotional, right when he passed, having to go back in and look at him every day," Nolan recalled. "But the truth is, I feel very lucky to have something productive to do, to have a performance that he was very, very proud of, and that he had entrusted to me to finish." All of Ledger's scenes appear as he completed them in the filming and in editing the film no digital or special effects were given to alter Ledger's actual performance posthumously. (see thats why I call him Legendary) Costume designer Lindy Hemming described the Joker's look as reflecting his personality and gave a Francis Bacon spin to his face that decays in the texture of the look itself and is grubby so one can almost imagine what he smells like? Check his facial paints at the end of the scene and the attitude mixes remarkably – “I am the Joker, I don’t really care how I look!” Designers improved on the design of the Bat-suit from Batman Begins and introduce the Batpod, which is a recreation of the Batcycle. The Batman Theme was composed by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard which began before shooting. The Dark Knight has grossed over $394 million in the domestic box office, breaking the previous record of the fastest film to hit $300 million and as of July 28, 2008, $202 million in other countries. As of August 4th, 2008, its total worldwide gross stands at $523.1 million. It is also said that The Dark Knight might go pass the Titanic which grossed $601 million and by the end of 2008 Heath Ledger “The Joker” will be nominated for the Oscar! The Dark Knight is also currently the highest grossing movie of 2008 in domestic box office and second worldwide. Yours truly, a tribute to the Legendary Joker!
Rotten Tomatoes rated this movie 8.5/10 but I need nothing to rate this film 10/10. Go for it folks, its worth to see The Joker once!
Thanks for the review Tintin! I did watched this movie, but I guess it's a super digital generation where one can make such types of movies. But I will have agree that The Joker wasn't digitally created. This is guy has incredibly worked in Brokeback Mountain and once again proved that Australian actors are better than any American ones. I believe Morgan Freeman's role was not needed an dthough a little long, audience would not feel lengthy.
Hey guys..one things is gauranteed this Halloween...The Joker will be one of the best selling costume for the kids as wella s the old. I might buy one. It has already grabbed people's attentiona nd many are dressing up like the joker at the NYC and Batman is one of the best character for Disneyland these days!
Hey buy dn't you find that the Batman was using a different voice once he weared the Batsuit? As wayne, his voice was pretty normal but as Batman, his voice will just change like more husky!I find it very odd!
I think it works as Batman he can difinitely have a different or more husky voice compared to his normalcy as Mr Wayne. I dunno why people are making such mountain out of mole. I read the Yahoo news and many has criticize this issue.
I never imagined in my wildest dream that this review will come out so nice when i requested tintin to do the review as soon i learnt, she has just come back home seen the movie. Though I have also watched the movie in DVD later and thought i will write but thanks a lot for the fantastic review. Talented, versatile blogger who can right this as well after writing so many serious articles.

Dakku = Anonymous! Arey apna naam to likhna chahiye tha biddu! Yaar Hindi mein kachra kiya dubbed karke.. english mein dekh.. Baapu ke gaav ka hai tu magar aaj Baapu bhi zind ahote to yeh movie English mein hi dekhte. Yes Yeh Joker ke liye jana jaroor aur apni date ko le jaa dikhane mst ho jayegi
the 'b'ollywood to make this movie with akshay kumar and katrina. why do you think its named 'b'ollywood? it means that we take every damn movie that you make and add a 'b'ullshit to convert to a hindi movie!
however ...i havent seen the movie. mostly i will be biased watching this movie with your review he he
Bollywood to make this movie..yuk yuk chi chi..I might start hating thismovie then. With Akki and Katrina..God please save! The most infamous actor Akki and wannabe Karina...people just think they can hit the boxoffice! Really the people in Bollywood(copywood) are nasty!
Friends ask me why i dont c hindi movies?my only answere remains i will only go if the movie is original not a copy of something else...watching n passing time at home watching cable is maximum i can think of a bollywood movie apart from experimental movies like rahul bose and similar to him does.
Excellent review of the movie... Though I have not seen the movie but after reading such a vivid review I would definitely go for it.Hey sandy why u dont go for watching hindi movies is entirely ur personal choice but I cant support your point that watching bollywood movies based on hollywood is sheer waste of time...Life in a Metro,Pyar Ta Hona Hi tha,Black to name a few though are hollywood based still its worth watching them...Taare Zameen Par,Lagaan though an experimental movie and not featuring Rahul Bose are movies bollywood has gifted us..So Hollywood movies are the best and bollywood is doing bogus work is not the real story man..hollywood uses latest technology, resource and aboveall huge capital to make a movie box-office hit. There we are lagging behind still some bollywood movies are exceptionally good..Low budget with less expensive actors sometimes creates wonders like "Life in a Metro" which is based on a 1960 Hollywood movie "The Apartment"....so the real work of a movie depends on the director first followed by storyline, acting etc etc...its not Hollywood or Bollywood tag that decides whether a movie is worth watching or not..
As far your comment goes, I think you simply saying the same thing what I already mentioned above regarding good movies like "Jane Bhi Do Yaron" by Nassiruddin Shah, "Pushpak" by Kamal Hassan and other latest and from recent past experimental and commedy movies like "Khosla Ka Ghosla" by Anupam Kher and similar series of movies what Rahul Bose acted in, can be watched again and again. So I never said, hollywood or bollywood is the basis to judge good or bad movies. I said original story that matters to me.Not worth taking time out , going to theater to watch copy paste stuff . For that sitting home, watching cable is enough. Guess I have made my point clear.
ok sandy and Parna on same boat only different sides of the boat. Nassiruddin Shah is one of the veteran actor who is nowadays misused in movies like Mohra! Anupam kher's Daddy was best shot and Rahul Bose is great! I do like konkana sen sharma and believe she is the best actress ever after Suchitra Sen.
You indulged on the point of not going to watch copy paste movies...What i m trying to say is there are some copy paste movies in hindi which are worthwatching too like Life in a Metro,Pyar to hona hi tha etc etc..So its not worthy to not watch these movies since they are mere copy paste..sometimes when right scripts gets into the hand of the right directors he creates wonders though the scripts are copy paste one..
why do't you write professionally into some newspaper or generals? I like your writing and you are so versatile! I might not watch such movies as I am not fond of but your review can get these producers some extra dollars. Worth reading your articles!
"Pyar to hona hi tha - mone ache dekhte giye ghumiye porechilam"-that's ur personal choice my frnd ...but I liked it especially kajol and Ajay Devgan were best in their performance.ya Sarkar was good too may but i think i was giving instances of copy paste used in Bollywood.Even to some people Life in a Metro appears somewhat boring since its not like typical commercial movies but exception doesn't rule
