Hey hurry up,the ancient booby trap will be closing soon. The flesh-eating scarabs
are coming…..Run faster.What happened????Why do you stop running?????Oh
my God….I was dreaming with my eyes open.I am in the cinema hall and
not in the deserts of Egypt…
Such
a brilliant movie,The Mummy is.Wanna see it through my eyes??Lets
go..The movie directed by Stephen Sommers was released in 1999.The
movie begins in Egypt, circa 1290B.C.High priest Imhotep was having an
affair with Anck-su-namun,the mistress of Pharaoh Seti I.When their
love affair was disclosed they killed the Pharaoh.Anck-su-namun then
kills herself, intending for Imhotep to resurrect her.Ultimately as
punishment Imhotep’s tongue was cut out and he was buried alive, wrapped
like a mummy,along with a swarm of flesh-eating scarabs.He was buried
under heavy security, sealed away in a sarcophagus below a statue of the
Egyptian god Anubis and kept under strict surveilence by the
Medjai.Three thousand years later in 1924 Evelyn an Egyptologist, her
brother Jonathan and Rick started their journey to Hamunatra in search
of archaeological evidences of ancient Egypt.A band of treasure hunters
joined them in search of treasures in the city of Hamunatra. Both the
groups faced various troubles in their hunt for treasure. Some were
seriously injured, some killed mercilessly whereas others became prey of
flesh eating scrarabs. The rest is suspence…go for DVDs at nearest DVD
store and collect your copy of “The Mummy” now. Brendan Fraser
performed brilliantly as Richard “Rick” o’Connel. His braveity, courage
and desperateness attracted everyones attention.I have become a blind
fan of this macho man. Rachel Weisz
was comfortable in Evelyn’s role with her beautiful looks and sex
appeal.Arnold Vasloo was mean, touch, nasty in his role of Imhotep,The
Mummy.
The
main attraction of this movie is Special Effects coupled with
photography and music. The director chosed Universal Studio for shooting
some scenes along with Sahara Desert to give a realistic flavor to the
movie. The Mummy’s box office performance led to numerous sequels and
spinoffs. It was nominated for Best Sound at the Academy awards and Best
Visual Effects at the BAFTAs. With its latest techonolgy and tools
Hollwood has once again showed its presence in world cinema.Hats off to
the director.
