 India ultimately slams the pride of the Aussie by winning the second test at Mohali. India defeated Australia by 320 runs and established their supremacy in all the departments. It was a show that should impress the selectors and the board officials. Captain Dhoni took the Man of the Match award after his breezy innings of 92 and 68, while Sourav and Gambhir scored centuries and Amit mishra took 7 wickets in his debut match. Competition to clinch the Border Gavaskar Trophy is now tilting in the favor of the Indian. Investing the supreme power in the bowling and batting sector, India enjoys the thumping win over the Kangaroos as they clinch the first win in the series .
After the exciting draw inFi the first test, Indians were ready to take on their opponents. This Australian team proves the point raised by eminent cricket scholars and players that they are the weakest pack of this decade and unable to register their firepower against their opponent.
Batting is a big failure so is the bowling. Spin section is not up to the mark and White as a bowler incapable of producing the same magic as Shane Warne. In the Batting section Mathew Hayden is a total failure. Hayden failed to make a mark so are the other batsmen of the team.
On the other side, Indian batsmen are on a full swing.
Saourav Ganguly in his last series hit his sixteenth century and was on song. His batting was supported by Tendulkar and Dhoni in the First Innings. Gambhir and Sehwag in the second batted flawlessly and wiped the Aussie bowlers out. Debutant Amit Mishra proves to be the right choice of the selectors as he took five wickets in the first innings. Both the pacers were outstanding as they probed the off stamp of the Australians time and again and got the fruits of success. Overall this performance was outstanding and can hope to clinch the series as well as the trophy.
