Opensource has revolutionized the information technology. The proprietary products  has so far ruled the market.

But now the opensource has gicen a oppurtunity to the corporates and the individuals to take advantage of the advantage of information technolgy in their daily needs by using free pr almost free software tools. This has also benefitted the overall growth and improvement in this rich intelectual technology where developers and users of the technology constatntly intereacting and contributing towards the technology by helping each and everyone directly or indirectly and as a result the technology getting cheaper , more user friendly and worthy.

What els if there is know OPEN SOURCE,THEN WHERE WE WILL STAND? have an Idea?? I believe that Linux will take charge over windows very soon.As Microsoft have to develop some thing in against. Open office is also a very handy software and people may use it and like it.I do suggest it for every MS office users.So Keep on writing on this topic Reply | Quote 0   0

paramitam - Sandy Publisher | 2008-06-04 16:47:36 While open source has it's advantage and disadvantages, the negative impacts are more than it is actually helping the developers. I have seen many organization has Firewalls to prevent them getting their confidential data hacked or has firewalls to prevent the virus getting into the systems. It is common in small business organizations but not applicable to big companies, especially the Financial sectors. Federal organization has firewalls imposed so that confidential things dont get exploited. Google uses open source, which actually had surprised me as big and techonology geeks still are not using the advanced gadget they need to at work. Whereas some Tech Corps such as BEA uses opensource testing tools for Performance testing or unit testing such as JUNIT. Reply | Quote 0   0
